AUST Student Wins Mansoor Bin Mohammed Photography Award

Shoaib Khattab, student at the Architecture Department of the College of Engineering in Ajman University of Science and Technology, has acquired the first prize of Mansoor Bin Mohammed Photography Award in its main category themed “Emirati Coasts”, which focused this year on documenting the marine life of the UAE in its diverse forms.

Shoaib’s achievement is just one among a series of awards and top positions he was able to accomplish since he has been exploring the art of photography. He recently received the first prize of Hamdan Bin Rashid Photography Award and won Souq Okad Photography Award in Saudi Arabia.

The AUST student was very happy to earn this award, which he dedicated to his parents as well as his university, acknowledging the latter’s big role in honing his talents as an amateur photographer.

Closing its fourth edition this year, Mansoor Bin Mohammed Photography Award is one of the major initiatives that support the art of photography in the UAE. It aims to foster the development of this art in the UAE and the Arab region by encouraging local and Arab promising and professional photographers, especially those of them who prove to be innovators, to compete in the international arena. The award also intends to pioneer the art of photography nationally and regionally through the organization of various activities such as seminars, workshops, exhibitions and galleries to inspire the art and culture of photography in the community.
