Training Courses to Keep Student’s Skill Set Updated

Ajman University Office of Career & Placement Services at the Deanship of Student Affairs strives to ensure students, graduates are abreast of the market trends, and their skill set are diverse. To serve this purpose it regularly organizes, lectures trainings and workshops to stimulate and expand their knowledge.

A leadership course was delivered by Dr. Najah Al-Ramahi  - Assistant Professor-College of Education & Basic Sciences, Ajman University outlined the importance of leadership as a skill. She differentiated between a manager and a leader by highlighting their attributes and styles. The participants also learnt about the various styles of leadership and how each one affects the team.

A training course entitled “Art of Self-Marketing”, was moderated by Dr.Belal Ibrahim Zakarneh Assistant Professor, College of Information, Mass Communications & Humanities, AU. The course outlined the key features of self-marketing and promotion both in personal and professional life. He encouraged the attendees to practice marketing tools and actively promote themselves as brand personality. He also stressed on the need for continuous development to achieve optimum results.

A training course entitled CV Writing and Interview Skills was facilitated by Mr. Mohammed Ismail, Manager of Career and Placement Service. This course aimed to help job seekers find a job that suits their qualifications, experiences and ambitions. Upon completion of this course, the trainee were able to write an effective resume, and learnt tactics on how to handle the job interview. He also encouraged the students to do their market research, understand the need of the employers and then plan their CV accordingly.
